Introduction

Task 2a asks you to read the material in Appendix 1 and discuss why hunger is a global challenge that needs to be addressed. You can also use the material from Task 1a and 1b as inspiration in your discussion. We will provide some ideas and arguments which you could use in your discussion.

Appendix 1 presents different materials on hunger as a global challenge. The quote on the World Food Programme is taken from BBC and discusses the WFP winning the Nobel Prize. The second quote, which discusses world hunger in connection to food waste, is by Agnes Kalibata and is taken from the United Nations website.
