Dette er en oppgave i Samfunnsfaglig engelsk som handler om valgsystemet i Storbritannia. Oppgaven er del av en tentamensbesvarelse våren 2016. I oppgaven redegjøres det for valgsystemet i Storbritannia. Oppgaven kommer også inn på det britiske folkets forsøk på å få deres stemme til å telle.

The United Kingdom is ruled as a Parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarch. It has its king or queen as the head of state, a prime minister as the head of government and finally, the members of parliament (MP's). The power is shared by The House of Commons, The House of Lords and the prime minister. They all represent different aspects and they are all voted for by UK citizens, except the ones that sit in the House of Lords. Still, the UK elections are considered to be less democratic because of the House of Lords and its dissemination of votes. As a response, it makes the citizens among the UK inveterate creative solutions to indeed make their vote count.
