Modern technology has seen some remarkable developments during the age of digital revolution, causing geographical barriers to degrade. The relevance of this rapid adjustment is at its peak today, as the world is becoming more globalized. This process, like any other, comes with both pros and cons. People can connect better, and much more efficiently and resourcefully, regardless of geographical distance; but the same modern technology that enables people to connect better, however, has its drawbacks. The most significant being that it is a threat against the cultural diversity we strive to maintain, and the second one being that it interrupts real communication. These effects cause people to dispute whether global communication is something we should welcome, or if it is something we should fear.
Because of newly-developed communication technologies we can connect better, and much more efficiently with people across the globe, regardless of geographical distance. This technology has resulted in English becoming the lingua franca, meaning that it is a language which a large portion of the world's population is familiar with...
